Hello! I'm Phil Hawkins, a film and commercials director. Welcome to The Philm Blog! It's a practical look at directing and working as a freelancer director in the industry today.
Film wise, I recently directed the Universal Studios / Sky Cinema feature film PRANCER: A CHRISTMAS TALE starring James Cromwell and ROBIN AND THE HOODS with Naomie Harris and Gwendoline Christie. I wrote and directed the psychological thriller THE LAST SHOWING starring Robert "Freddy Krueger" Englund and Finn "Iron Fist" Jones. Other films include BEING SOLD, THE FOUR WARRIORS and PHILIP PULLMAN'S THE BUTTERFLY TATTOO. I've directed 100s television commercials with brands such as Acer, Birra Moretti, Sony, Dreams, Cartoon Network, Vanquis Bank, Microsoft, Sol and others.
