Wessex Lowlines

Wessex Lowlines is currently the largest herd of Lowline Angus cattle in Europe. Based in Stubhampton, Dorset, UK. We are an Elite health status herd.
Lowline cattle are a beef breed, naturally polled and 100% Aberdeen Angus - derived from Aberdeen Angus in the early 1900's that were sent to Australia to the Trangie research centre. They are approx 60% the size of modern day beef breeds. Lowline cattle do not carry the dwarfism gene. They are a hardy sustainable beef breed able to finish on grass & outwinter. Lowline cattle can provide more beef to the acre than larger breeds - we are able to stock at 2.5 plus calves to the acre. They are naturally docile and easily handled & easy calving.
