A. Castilla-Ávila

Agustín Castilla-Ávila is a composer, guitarist, improviser, graphic artist, author and artistic researcher. His music was conducted by D. Russell-Davies, J. Kalitzke, T. Ceccherini, A. Soriano, H. Lintu and H. Schellenberger, etc. He has written solo and chamber music, orchestral, theater plays, choreographies and opera. He has published for Doblinger Verlag, Bergmann Edition, Mackingerverlag, Da Vinci Edition, Verlag Neue Musik, Matrix and Joachin Trekel. His music has been recorded on 16 CDs and 3 DVDs.
He is the president of the Internationale Gesellschaft für Ekmelische Musik in Austria, director of the symposia “Mikrotöne: Small is Beautiful” in Salzburg and “The microtonal Village” in New York.
He has lectured internationally about his ideas, including at universities such as Juilliard School in New York, Mozarteum in Salzburg, Yong Siew To Conservatory in Singapore, Boston University, etc.
He is currently an artistic researcher at LMTA in Vilnius.
