SMK Championships
"Super Mario Kart Championships" is a yearly tournament organized by FFSMK since 2002 and featuring the best Super Mario Kart players from all around the world (France, Netherlands, United Kingdom, Germany, United States, Japan, Australia, Brazil, Belgium, Switzerland, Spain, Norway, Greece, Ireland, Sweden,...).
The 4 modes are played (Time Trial, Match Race, Battle Mode, Grand Prix 150cc) during 4 days of competition.
As of now, all matches from Super Mario Kart Championships were played on Super Nintendo (PAL) and CRT TVs.
In 2019, a special tournament (American Super Mario Kart Championships) has been played in the U.S. on the NTSC version of the game which is not only faster (60Hz vs 50Hz) but also has some very unique and interesting characteristics which makes it a completely distinct game.
