Sin Bandoneón

Coming from opposite sides of the world, Leandro Casas on piano, and Jazelle Green on tenor saxophone, bring their musical backgrounds together to create the unique timbre of Sin Bandoneón.
In 2006, Casas moved to Buenos Aires, Argentina to study piano and composition, and to perform and record professionally. His introduction to the music of Piazzolla came with the knowledge and understanding of traditional Tango, which he heard often growing up in San Francisco, Córdoba, Argentina.
Green, from Portland, Oregon USA, has spent most of her musical career playing, learning, and listening to Jazz and other popular US styles. When she first heard recordings of Piazzolla playing the bandoneón, the lines he used reminded her of the saxophone. Through this interpretation, Green found a connection to this music and from there began to explore traditional Tango. ///
