Siya Shezi is a Soweto-born emcee carrying the legacy of Deep Soweto Hip-Hop. Emerging in the early 2000s, he built his name through raw Kasi Rap, street cyphers, and two influential mixtapes that spread across South Africa. His breakout moment came with Deep Soweto’s rise in 2005, leading to major performances, provincial tours, and winning the King of Street crown at Slughuis in 2010. His acclaimed mixtape Iqaba earned a SA Hip Hop Awards nomination and cemented him as an authentic voice in SA hip-hop.
