Aerosoft GmbH was founded in 1991 next to Paderborn/Lippstadt airport and initially developed add-on software for Microsoft Flight Simulator and for student pilots. In 2002, the portfolio was expanded to include add-ons for Microsoft Train Simulator. Since 2007, Aerosoft has increasingly focused on highly realistic simulation games, including ‘World of Subways’, ‘OMSI’ and ‘Citybus Simulator’. The new ‘Train Simulator’ (in Germany) and ‘X-Plane’ are also distributed by Aerosoft. Aerosoft is now one of the leading software publishers in the flight simulation genre.
