Hi, my name is Martin Hearn and welcome to my channel. I was originally inspired and taught by my father a Welsh Guards snare drummer, I joined NYJO (National Youth Jazz Orchestra) at 15, turned pro at 16 and spent the next 40 years as a freelance session/touring drummer including a 7 year tenure with The Drifters.
In 1994 started my own drum school and featured here are some great performances recorded for posterity.
I thank My father for taking the time to teach me the foundations in a very meticulous and patient manner as well as having the humility to pass me on to a great teacher and mentor Mr Glyn Thomas, who apart from teaching me to be an excellent sight reader also taught me more about musicality and professionalism than he ever takes credit for. I would like to thank all my students for their time and devotion to the instrument and for putting their trust in me to guide them to their goals.
