AGBU Sofia Chamber Orchestra
AGBU Sofia Chamber Orchestra was established in 2006 on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the founding of the organization "Parekordzagan" with the sole idea to promote samples of Armenian and Bulgarian musical culture, masterpieces of musical classification and works by contemporary authors. The founder was the chairperson of the organization at that time - Mrs. Sonia Avakian-Bedrossian.
The longtime conductor and music director of the orchestra in the period 2006-2018 Bedros Papazyan has invited to the orchestra some of the most expressive and prominent musicians from the Sofia Philharmonic, the Bulgarian National Radio Orchestra, the Sofia Opera and the National Music Academy.
Since 2019 the conductor of the orchestra is Levon Manukyan. The composition of the orchestra has been renewed. Concerts in the style of symphonic rock of performers such as System of a down are arranged. From that moment the orchestra began to actively perform online concerts.
