Total Action for Progress (TAP) is a community action agency located in Roanoke, Virginia. We work to restore hope, dignity, and opportunity for those who want to claim their potential or need a second chance. With over 25 programs, we help people in the areas of education and employment, domestic violence and family services, housing, and financial services. We serve over 5,000 people each year.

TAP is about getting people involved in their own lives and enabling them to help themselves—not simply about fixing things for now or providing hand-outs. People often come to TAP with urgent needs that prevent them from addressing their bigger-picture problems. TAP partners with many organizations throughout the community to meet those immediate needs and get to the heart of the bigger problem together.
