Language and Communication Across Modalities

The Language and Communication across Modalities (LaCAM) Lab has been engaged in the study of communication and language in children with typical and atypical development and of Sign Language in both children and adult population over the last 30 years.

Our ultimate goal of research is to reach a more profound understanding of universal as well as modality dependent features of human linguistic abilities.

Furthermore, the LaCAM lab adopts routinely a cross-disciplinary approach to the study of language and communication, often bringing together researchers from various fields (developmental psychology, linguistics, neuroscience, developmental psychopathology and education), encouraging dialogue and synergy.
