Path of Awakening Buddhist Center
The Path of Awakening (formerly New York Buddha Dharma & Westchester Buddhist Center) is an online Buddhist meditation center founded by John Baker, a student of Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche and also led by meditation teachers Michael Kern, Laura Read and Barry Cunningham and others. Its guiding principles are: To continue the teachings, practices, and Tibetan Kagyü lineage of the Vidyadhara, the Venerable Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche; To invite other teachers to teach, including visiting Rinpoches as well as seasoned student/practitioners; and to provide a community of friends with whom to share and tread the path.
We meet on Zoom for every morning and evening for meditation. On Tuesday evenings a buddhist meditation class covers readings from Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche books The Profound Treasury Book series. After finishing Volume 2, the Way of Bodhisattva we are reading Shambhala, The Sacred Path of the Warrior and . The recordings are available for class attendants to review.
