Lazenby London Mindful Sewing Calm

Mindfulness. Simple, natural, mindful sewing. Calming rhythmic flow through sashiko boro, embroidery and some little unexpected relaxing stitching surprises. Wabi sabi is the ethos, getting lost in the moment, embracing imperfection and making it beautiful. This style of stitching, scandi sashiko, was formed when I was caring for my terminally ill little brother. The rhythmic flow of simple stitches allowed my mind to rest and calm in the chaos of the emotion and anxiety.

Sharing this with you is my purpose, it's not about sewing perfectly or following text book rules, it is simply the freedom to explore and express our stitching creativity with a feeling of joy and bring calm to our minds with our hands. Inspiring others to sew for flow, to love wherever they are on their creative journey, embracing the wonky stitches and remembering how much good it can do us to enjoy this moment.

If you are looking for geometric sashiko or formal embroidery this may not be for you.
