Leitrim Women Through Time
Leitrim Women Through Time is a multi-phase community heritage project run by the North Leitrim Women’s Centre and Scéal Heritage Consultancy, which records and celebrates the stories of everyday rural women neglected by history.
In Summer 2023, Phase 2 of the project focused on talks, workshops, and discussions around five themes important to the story of Leitrim women in the past. These were: Women and Traditional Craft, Maternity and Midwives, Women, Cures, and Healing, Women and Factory Work, and Women and the Dancehalls. The events around these themes were recorded for addition to an archive of Leitrim women's history for preservation for the future.
