Martin de Zuviria

Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Martín de Zuviría is a classic and tango guitar player. He studied music for a few years at the National Conservatory of Music of Buenos Aires, and took private lessons for many years with Vicente José Elías and Consuelo Mallo López. Martin has performed in Buenos Aires, Montreal and Ottawa. His repertoire focuses on the history of tango that includes a variety of pieces from Spanish dances of the 16th century, classical tangos and milongas from the early 20th century and many works by Astor Piazzolla. Since March 2002 he has resided in Ottawa and has been devoted to the guitar among other professional activities. He performed recitals for Music and Beyond during four seasons that included the main works of Astor Piazzolla. He also performed at retirement residences, tango milongas and other venues. Martin has a Ph.D. in environmental sciences.
