Flying Dundee

About me: Danny (Dundee) Williams. I have been around small airplanes all my life. Both my parents were pilots. In fact my first flight was in a 1956 Cessna 172 flown by my Father while my Mom held onto me. That was in 1961 and I was one year old. The first time I remember actually flying an airplane was when I was 10 years old. My Dad put me in the front seat of his 65Hp Aeronca Champ. I was 28 when I took my first formal flying. My log book shows that I had 2.3 hours of flight training when the instructor let me solo for the first time. This was a testament to how much time I had spent before then flying with my Dad and brother. I don't think any flight instructor would let that happen today, but I spent the next 3.3 hours solo, doing circuits at our local airport. My first airplane was a J3 Cub, then a Cessna 180 that I flew for 16 years. But the lure of a Cub never leaves you so I went back to a cub. Hope you enjoy the ride.
