Solaris Project
The research project SOLARIS (Strengthening democratic engagement through value-based generative adversarial networks) is coordinated by the University of Utrecht. The project will analyse political risks associated with deepfake technologies, to prevent negative implications for EU democracies. Moreover, it will assess the opportunities raised by GANs for reinvigorating the democratic engagement of citizens.
It involves 13 partners from 8 different countries. The project is funded by the Horizon Europe programme and runs for 36 months, starting in February 2023.
