St Stephen Walbrook has been described as one of the ten most important buildings in England. The church, which is crowned by the first dome to be built in the UK, has a perfect acoustic. The interior is arranged around a circular altar, designed by acclaimed sculptor Henry Moore. St Stephen Walbrook was the birthplace of The Samaritans, the world’s first telephone helpline and continues its ministry of wellbeing today through arts, music and spiritual support to those living, working and visiting the Square Mile.
