Ryukoku University Symphonic Band / 龍谷大学吹奏楽部

We are the Ryukoku University Symphonic Band, belonging to Ryukoku University in Japan. Our 190 members gather daily, with the themes "music" and "gratitude" as central to our practice.

The Ryukoku University Symphonic Band (Brass Band Club) was established in 1968, and under the guidance of world-renowned conductor Sado Yutaka, appeared in our first national competition in 1986. We were joined afterwards by our Music Director and regular Conductor Yoshito Wakabayashi, and having taken part in all twenty-one All Japan University National Competitions, won the Gold Prize eleven times. We also work actively in recording our work, and until this time have released twenty-eight CDs.

Through our popularity and strong abilities, we continue pursuing our activities with not only a strong reputation as an outstanding brass band club within Japan itself, but also as a representative team of the Kansai region in Western Japan.
