National Lutheran Choir

The National Lutheran Choir under the direction of Dr. Jennaya Robison, celebrates, invigorates and expands sacred choral music, bringing inspiration and meaning to people of diverse faiths and backgrounds.

The choir's rich and diverse repertoire both with and without instrumental accompaniment ranges from early chant to complex orchestral masterworks and new compositions.

The NLC presents a wide range of choral works in concert and worship settings, leads workshops in choral techniques, hymnody and liturgy, commissions and publishes new compositions, and broadcasts and records extensively. The choir was founded in 1986 by Dr. Larry Fleming, and led by Dr. David Cherwien from 2002-2023.

The choir features a roster of committed volunteer singers from many backgrounds and faiths. Our singers are teachers, pastors, nurses, entrepreneurs, church musicians, Catholics, Methodists, Lutherans - all highly engaged in singing the spirit with conviction, passion and artistic excellence.
