Great Bustard Group

Great Bustard Group is a charity that champions the reintroduction of the Great Bustard in to the plains of Salisbury and beyond.

Great Bustards are the largest flying birds in Europe and sadly became extinct in the UK in
the mid-nineteenth century. The Great Bustard Group was set up in 1998 to explore the
possibility of introducing the Great Bustard back into the UK.

The wild population is now estimated to have reached about 100 birds who spend most of
their time in Wiltshire around Salisbury Plain.
