武汉大学-Wuhan University (WHU), founded in 1893 by Zhang Zhidong, is a comprehensive and key national university directly under the administration of the Ministry of Education of China. It is also honoured as the "Most Beautiful University in China". WHU is one of the earliest universities to recruit international students since the 1950s and has more than 3500 international students, covering 200 majors in 30 schools (departments, research centres), and now the biggest international student destination in central and western China. School of International Education of WHU is one of the first members to have passed the certification of studying abroad in China. The school offers an undergraduate program in Chinese Language, a master's program in Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages for international students, a WTO double degree, and more.
