Blanton Museum of Art in Austin, Texas
The Blanton Museum of Art is Austin's art museum. Part of The University of Texas at Austin and just steps from the Texas State Capitol, the Blanton has more than 22,000 works in the collection, spanning countries, cultures, and centuries. Ancient art to contemporary art. Sculptures to film and video art. The museum is also home to Ellsworth Kelly's "Austin," the renowned artist's now iconic work, and a number of large-scale, immersive artworks. These include the Butler Sound Gallery and murals by Carmen Herrera and Kay Rosen. With a year-round schedule of traveling exhibitions, art lovers are sure to discover new and old favorites at the Blanton Museum of Art.
