Baring School, Batala

The Baring Educational Complex originated from Baring High School, founded on April 1, 1878, by Reverend Francis Henry Baring with support from the local Indian Christian community. Its aim was to provide education to underprivileged individuals. In 1884, Miss Charlotte Maria Tucker established “The Plough,” later known as “ALOE” School, which merged with Baring High School in 1934. The institution became Baring Christian College in 1944. Re-established by Dr. Ram Singh, the school has been affiliated with the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examination (CISCE) since 1973, offering education from Nursery to Class XII. It is managed by the Baring Union Christian College Association, a non-profit society based in Batala, Punjab.
