Bryan Miller-Hicks
Geology, Earth Science, and Engineering Geology, from a Professional's perspective. I am a professional geologist and certified engineering geologist, registered in the state of California. I have a BS and MS in geology from Oregon State University. I have been employed as an engineering geologist for 40+ years. My experience is primarily in construction related engineering geology, conducting investigations into the suitability of properties to receive structures. That means investigating and understanding soil and bedrock types, assessing strength characteristics, groundwater conditions, clay content, and other ground conditions including the presence of earthquake faults.
I have also taught geology and earth sciences at Cuyamaca, Southwestern, San Diego City community colleges and engineering geology at SDSU
