Adriaan Hoek

Adriaan Hoek is a concert organist. He acquired his Master of Music degree summa cum laude at the Conservatory of Rotterdam. He also studied piano, theory of music, church music and improvisation.

He continued his studies at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Hamburg and at the Hogeschool in Gent. Here he followed lessons with Wolfgang Zerer, Pieter van Dijk and Ignace Michiels.

Adriaan won eight first prizes at international organ competitions Netherlands, Germany, Austria, Italy and America.

Since the summer of 2022 he has been the city organist of Rotterdam. Here he is the permanent player of the organs in the Doelen and the town hall. As a church musician he works in the Marekerk in Leiden.

Adriaan likes to play the entire breadth of the organ repertoire, from 15 to 21st century music. In addition he likes to combine the organ with other musicians.
