SIBASANKAR SATAPATHY RHYTHM

Shivshankar Satapathy is an Odissi Mardal player. Mardala is a horizontal drum from the eastern state Odisha which is the main accompanying drum for Odissi Classical Dance & Odissi Vocal. Shivshankar has been playing the Mardala for the past 22 years & has worked with the very well known Nrityagram Dance Ensemble(Bangalore) for 6 years & currently working as a freelancer. Shivshankar is regularly performing at Vidushi Parvati Dutta's Mahagami Gurukul & with his sister, noted Odissi dancer Smt. Bijayini Satpathy.
