Kamancha performer

Kamancha is an ancient stringed musical instrument of Azerbaijan. Its history goes back to 1000 years ago. There is 4 strings in kamancha. Its main structure consists of three parts: skull, arm and chanag ( bowl ). Famous Azerbaijani composers have various works and instrumental concertos. For example, Haji Khanmammadov, Zakir Baghirov, Tofig Bakikhanov and others are the authors of " Concerto for Kamancha and Symphony Orchestra " and different pieces. At the 12th session of the Intergovernmental Committee for Heritage Protection, " Making and performing art of the Kamancha stringed musical instrument " jointly presented by the Republic of Azerbaijan was included in the Representative List of UNESCO's Intangible Cultural Heritage.
