The Old History Project
Welcome to the Old History Project, an award winning youtube channel that aims to uncover the mystery of so many forgotten stories from around the Appalachian Region.
The channel is an affiliate of the East Tennessee Historical Society, as is its creator, and sole contributor Dakota B Carmichael. As such, the goal here is to preserve stories, and pure, raw history for the future generations who might not get to see or experience them as we do today.
This channel won the Historic Preservation award from the East Tennessee Preservation Alliance in November 2019, and the Community History Award from the East Tennessee Historical Society in June 2022
You can support the old history project via my podcast channel, Anchor.fm/oldhistory, or by way of my patreon, @ Patreon.com/Oldhistory.
