Classic Youth Orchestra
CYO is a Cebu-based youth orchestra founded by Prof. Reynaldo Abellana. It is a creative environment composed of young musicians, ages 12-23, from different social & cultural background. CYO envisions the youth achieving their fullest potential through learning & performing orchestra masterworks. It aims to encourage musical excellence by providing musical training & a variety of performance opportunities both local & abroad.
CYO was officially launched on May 29, 2016. CYO participated in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Youth Orchestra Festival held at St. Scholastica’s College School of Music in Manila.
Some members has received invitation & participated in International Orchestras in Thailand, Japan, Cambodia, Vietnam, Malta, Austria, Hungary, Czech Republic, Korea, Taiwan, & Hong Kong.
CYO's pursuit for excellence means instilling to students a high degree of professionalism. CYO firmly believes in making quality music to develop new generations of audiences & appreciation for music.
