Energy 52

Energy 52, the brainchild of Paul Schmitz-Moorman, also known as “DJ Kid Paul,” was a pivotal figure in Germany’s early-’90s techno and house scene. Collaborating with Harald Blüchel, known as “Cosmic Baby,” and recorded by Jens Woinar at Highlights Studio in Berlin, the project debuted in 1991 with the Eternity and State of Mind EPs.

In 1993, Energy 52 released a track that defined an entire generation of club culture. Paying homage to Ibiza’s legendary Café Del Mar, the record became the decade’s quintessential trance anthem. Café Del Mar embodies the euphoric and hedonistic spirit of dancefloors worldwide and has been remixed by some of the biggest names in electronic music.
