Hookist is a social songwriting experience where fans, music lovers and aspiring artists collaborate on an original song with music's most respected artists. Each artist produces an Inspiration Video where they explain the songwriting process and describe the theme they'd like to write the song about. Then folks submit one-two line lyric ideas, invite their friends to vote for their work, and vote and comment on the work of others. Every day or so, the artist announces the winning line (which may or may not be the most popular lyric voted up by the community), explains why it is suited for the song and gives shout outs for other good contributions in a very casual and un-produced video or note.
