Archives of Latvian Folklore

The Archives of Latvian Folklore (ALF) were founded in December 2, 1924, following the initiative of a folklorist Anna Bērzkalne (1891–1956). Over the whole period of its existence the ALF has retained its three main fields of activities: archiving of folklore (collection, processing and storage), along with publication of folklore and its studies. Folklore archiving is still a current task, now using modern methods and technologies, including material digitisation and on-line publication.

Latviešu folkloras krātuve (LFK) ir dibināta 1924. gada 2. decembrī un ir uzskatāma par senāko akadēmisko pētniecības iestādi Latvijas Republikā. Visā pastāvēšanas laikā LFK saglabājusi trīs darbības pamatvirzienus: folkloras arhivēšanu (vākšanu, apstrādi un uzglabāšanu), publicēšanu un pētniecību. Folkloras arhivēšana aizvien turpinās, izmantojot mūsdienīgas metodes un tehnoloģijas, tāpat noris materiālu digitalizācija un publicēšana tiešsaistē.
