CityTV.nl emerged during the early days of the internet in the Netherlands around 2004. The aim was to share ideas and emotions through video and livestreams, independent of traditional TV media. Thereby increasing broader awareness among a wider audience. The focus on showcasing "the new" art, talk shows, design, writing, politics, and technology drove the desire to bring these aspects to the forefront and share them with people.
Underlying this vision was the conscious drive to share and interact on a global scale, ultimately aiming to strengthen or create the collective mind.
