Kenosha Fire Department
The Kenosha Fire Department is a full-time career department that responds to over 10,000 calls per year. The fire department operates out of 5 stations, has 156 employees and operates 32 pieces of apparatus. Our mission is to serve the City of Kenosha through the delivery of Emergency Services. This mission is accomplished by highly trained men and women who serve with pride, dedication and courage.
HISTORY
On March 8, 1851 the Kenosha Volunteer Fire Company was organized and incorporated under Governor Nelson Dewey. Since, the Kenosha Volunteer Fire Company grew and has continued to grow. The volunteer fire company eventually became the Kenosha fire department. Now, the Kenosha Fire Department is a full-time career Department that protects the lives and property of 99,841 citizens of the City of Kenosha within 25.43 square miles. As of 2021, the department responds to over 10,000 calls per year and operates out of 5 stations, with 156 employees and 32 pieces of apparatus.
