My Gothuruth - An Island of Festivals

Gothuruth is an Island in the state of Kerala, India, is located in the Ernakulam district, Paravur Taluk. Gothuruth is also known as "An Island of Festivals". Gothuruth is the major attraction of the Muziris Heritage Project. Under the patronage of Gothuruth Muziris Heritage Development & Charitable Society (ER. 620/11) Gothuruth has changed its own face through the cultural, heritage, social & charitable programs.

Gothuruthu Fest a two-days festival celebrated in the small island of Gothuruth is organized by the Gothuruth Muziris Heritage Development and Charitable Society, held on the 31st of Dec and 1st of Jan. Food fest, exhibition, stage programs are part of the festival. A carnival rally is held on the 1st of January.

Religious fairs are conducted at the St Sebastian's Church, Holy Cross Church & different chapels on the festivals days. Chavittunatakam, a popular art form along the coastal areas of Kochi is also staged. Boat races are another attractions of Gothuruth.
