Peradi Ensemble
Peradi Ensemble is a polyphonic and multilingual vocal ensemble founded in 2019 by nine women who came together in Istanbul. The group’s name derives from the Georgian word “peri,” meaning “color,” and Peradi translates to “colorful.” For them, these colors represent not only the variety of voices but also the diversity of cultures, languages, memories, and emotions.
Their repertoire consists of folk songs from nearby regions such as Anatolia, the Balkans, and the Caucasus, as well as from around the world. They perform in approximately 25 different languages, including Georgian, Laz, Megrelian, Bulgarian, Bosnian, Kurdish, Arabic, Ladino, Pontic Greek, Romanian, and French. These traditional melodies are reinterpreted through their unique vocal approach, arranged with polyphonic structures, and enriched with traditional instruments to create vibrant live performances.
