微光古樂集 The Gleam Ensemble

The Gleam Ensemble is an early music ensemble/platform based in Taiwan and Europe, which gives regularly concerts, seminars, presentations and especially early music education in Taiwan, translating as well early music sources to Chinese for Chinese speaking audiences.
The ensemble was founded in 2019 by Taiwanese historical bassoon/organ player- Martin Chiang, Japanese baroque violinist- Shio Ohshita and Taiwanese violinist- I-Chun Chen. The ensemble also works with modern instrument players on the approaching early music performance, and regularly invites musicians from abroad for concerts. ‘The Glæm’ refers to the “Chiaroscuro” and “Sfumato“ light contrasting techniques applied in Renaissance paintings, which is also a trademark of the photography of ensemble member Martin Chiang.

微光古樂集,為台灣的古樂復興的平台,專門提供中文的古樂資訊,同時也是一個在地與國際的專業巴洛克古樂團,因古樂復興的潮流已是國際藝界的重要趨勢,有鑒於在亞洲的日本與韓國的古樂發展也逐漸發展成熟,而年輕台灣的古樂家也日漸趨多,許多台灣演奏家也在歐洲各地的古樂大賽大放異彩,贏得歐洲古樂評審與觀眾們的肯定,希望用西方借古鑑今和復興歷史的理念,由“台灣在地”角度出發,返鄉為故鄉打造一條嶄新的領域與機會
