Jessica Comeau
The mountain dulcimer is a uniquely American instrument that lends itself well to acoustic genres including folk music, traditional hymns, and international/world music. It is a bridge between the Old World and the New, the ancient and the modern, and my musical repertoire (both instrumental and vocal) reflects such fusions.
You will find that each of my songs is deeply tied to a story. With my singing and playing, I seek to create mystical and mythical journeys guided by an acoustic heart, which is the mountain dulcimer… My music is meant to nurture hope and affirm the goodness and beauty of life. My style incorporates a Romantic blend of medieval, Celtic, folk, and world music along with newer influences. I offer several resources to promote, feature, and support the mountain dulcimer and those who play it. My books, recordings, and workshops can be found at www.JessicaComeauDulcimer.com, and current updates can be found at Pensacola Mountain Dulcimer Wildflowers page on Facebook.
