Paula Sommerville

Hi folks! I’m an independent country music artist who goes by the name Paula Sommerville. My real name was taken by another music artist, but I used this as an opportunity to honor a distant ancestor of mine. I’m a woman of a certain age… all I’m going to say is that age sure isn’t 20 or 30 😆 I’m from Downriver Michigan and still live near the Great Lakes with my two huskies and one cat.

I write my own lyrics and use AI tools — including vocals — to bring my songs to life. Some people don’t like that, and that’s okay. I remember when people said drum machines would ruin music. But music evolved — and I believe it’s evolving again. I’m just here to tell stories: about love, loss, family, and the kind of moments that stay with you.

I’ve loved music my whole life, but I often couldn’t find songs that matched what I was feeling — so I started writing my own. Now I’m learning as I go, making the kind of music I want to hear.
