Zen Dog
Greetings VW fans! This channel documents my journey restoring several classic Volkswagons. I own 3 v-dubs: a 1970 Squareback; (my daily driver w/auto trans and fuel injection), a 1965 Bug: (body off resto), and a 1966 split window bus (11 window - walk through). I am not a professional and have relied on the internet, local car clubs and the advice and help of friends to complete these projects. Having owned several v'dubs in the past I was familiar and experienced with the mechanics, and have rebuilt several engines. But I have had to learn to do body work, paint and welding. I removed and disassembled the 1200 cc bug engine and had it rebuilt using new, old stock parts by Steve Martinez of Wilmington N.C. I own and use sand blasting equipment but had the bug body small bead blasted by Chris and Vince @ Old South 58 Body Shop in Stella, N.C. My "mentor" and guru who has taught me the fine art of body and paint is Roger Brooks of Bath, N.C.
