Arthur Michael Zilkowsky – The Cosmic Surfer
Born September 12, 1967, in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Arthur “The Cosmic Surfer” Zilkowsky grew up along the shores of Shannon Park, immersed in salt air, radio melodies, and the rhythm of the sea. Music ran through his bones—from his father’s guitar to Anne Murray drifting from the radio. By 16, he played a twelve-string Harmony, chasing emotional truth in every chord. A high school physics teacher sparked a love for bluegrass, Neil Young, and a lifetime of performance. Before 18, he joined deep-sea freezer trawlers off Greenland, turning isolation into incubation, mastering guitar, banjo, mandolin, and fiddle. Over decades, Arthur became a soulful sideman, vocalist, and prolific songwriter with Opus 1+—500+ original works. With his wife June, he co-founded The IN House Musical B&B and Gallery, a sanctuary for music and art. Today, The Cosmic Surfer continues creating, performing, and exploring the currents of life and sound.
