Black Lotus Music
Multi-instrumentalist BLACK LOTUS, currently based in London, explores a variety of music from Medieval to Metal. Since childhood she has performed with choirs, vocal ensembles and in musicals as a chorister as well as soloist. With a passion for ethnomusicology and world music, apart from the hurdy-gurdy, acoustic guitar (6 and 12 string), bass guitar, harp guitar, piano, saxophone, clarinet, trumpet, recorder, drums, she has also dabbled with the hammered dulcimer (yangqin, santoor), oud, sitar, tanpura, and various percussion including the hang drum, doumbek (tabla, derbakki, darbuka), ghungroo, bells, frame drum (def, bodran), tambourine (riq), and finger cymbals (sagat, zils). In addition to music, she is involved with dance ethnology and had taught and performed dance worldwide.
