JP Cello!

Welcome to VibrezJP, home of internationally acclaimed cellist Jacques-Pierre Malan, praised for his “vibrant musicality” and described as a “tour de force.” Jacques-Pierre performs solo and chamber music across Africa, Europe, Asia, and the United States. As Cellist-in-Residence and Artistic Director of the historic Embassy Series in Washington, D.C., he creates concerts with humanitarian and diplomatic themes, and is founder of the Embassy String Quartet and core member of the Serafin Ensemble.

A frequent concerto soloist with orchestras from the Mid-Atlantic Symphony to the Cape Town Philharmonic, he has earned awards from the Yale Gordon Foundation, SAMRO, and the Stellenbosch International Chamber Music Festival, and appears in the documentary Getting to Carnegie Hall.

He tours Japan annually, presents Piatti’s 12 Caprices in “impossible projects,” and shares his passion through teaching and masterclasses. Subscribe for inspiring cello performances and cultural connections.
