Medical imaging & Radiology

Medical imaging uses technology to create visual representations of the inside of the body for diagnosis and treatment, while radiology is the medical specialty that interprets these images and uses them to guide procedures. Common imaging techniques include X-rays, CT scans, MRI, ultrasound, and nuclear medicine (like PET scans). Radiologists are doctors trained to read these images, diagnose illnesses, monitor disease progression, and perform image-guided treatments.
