Singer-songwriter/poet Indy Yelich O’Connor has always been fiercely independent.

Growing up in the Auckland suburb of Devonport, she recalls losing interest in drama classes as a child because she was “always more interested in creating the storyline than being in someone else’s.” This quickly became something of a mantra, motivating her first to pursue poetry and songwriting, and then to uproot her life to L.A. at 18, before settling in New York shortly after. It’s this determination to live authentically and to write intuitively that makes Indy such a compelling songwriter.
