This is the official Youtube channel of Jorge Ruiz, considered the father of Andean cinema.
Its meaning is powerful: Jorge Ruiz made more than 150 documentaries and 2 feature films, being the pioneer of the socially aware documentary genre.
Jorge Ruiz received several honors at international film festivals and was also awarded the Smithsonian Institute medal for his work.
We want to keep alive the memory of his work and its importance for the preservation of Andean culture.
Only by knowing our past and valuing our roots can we understand the present and look to the future.
