The Mystical Magical Mansion

When many couples are downsizing, we bought a historic mansion built in 1910 that is filled with secrets, magic and mystery. Follow us as we share the DIY adventures and learn about the history of our home, the historic neighborhood and our city.

This elegant home was built by Ephraim Dixon who moved to Omaha, Nebraska to become the president of Orchard and Wilhelm Furniture. It was built in the spectacular Gold Coast Neighborhood which boasted many of the cities finest homes in west Omaha. Since it's construction this glorious old home has survived the tornado of 1913 and four families with lots of children. The architect behind this Jacobean revival brick home is Jon Latenser Sr. who was also the architect of many of Omaha's most notable buildings including the Douglas County Courthouse and Central High School.
