Kababayan UCI
Pilipino-American Culture Night, PACN, is an annual production by Kababayan at UCI held at the Bren Events Center. It is Kababayan's largest event, as it represents various issues that affect the Pilipino-American communities. Through the art of theater and traditional Pilipino culture dance, a message is woven that will captivate the audience and present issues that are relevant to today's Pilipino-American experiences.
Due to the shifting nature of Pilipino-American identity, each of our culture nights is a unique production that reflects the experiences and hard work of every cast member. Aside from the cast members, the community at UCI and audience members are given a chance to learn and enjoy the dances and the singing of the choir, and explore the issues in the narrative of our skit. Through the magic of PACN, the cast and audience are exposed to different Pilipino and Pilipino-American issues, traditions, culture, and history.
