Onewheel GT-S Series Range Test & Board Review

I finally had time to conduct a range test on the new Onewheel GT-S Series Rally Edition board. The ride was from Union Square Park in Manhattan to the Flatlands in Brooklyn. I did not adjust the way I ride during this test. I weigh 282 lbs. I pumped the tire up to 31 PSI which is probably not recommended, however, the pressure works well for me and I want the best range I can possibly get.

During this time I rode a total of 14.2 miles, reaching my home with 14% battery life left. With the juice I had left I could probably muster out another 2-3 miles without the board shutting off on me.

This board can certainly handle commuting longer distances. I don’t see myself riding more than the distance I did on this trip unless it’s on a group ride, and when that’s the case I definitely will have a hyper charger on me.

This has been a great experience testing this board and getting to know its capabilities. I’ve already leveled up a lot, gaining more confidence each time I hop on my board.

The decrease in range may be a con, but it isn’t a big enough one to deter me from purchasing the board again. The price is really the biggest con to the board. It is expensive. But hobbies cost money and the more you participate, the more you enjoy it.

Would I recommend this to the average rider? — If the price is within your budget, then I’d highly recommend it. I wouldn’t go into debt for it. The other models are incredible boards as well. But… This is a big upgrade. I have noticed the change in performance significantly. The smaller hub, the increase in power and improved stability from the rails, makes the ultimate Onewheel experience.
